In this article, we will formulate a Kraken vs Canadiens prediction for this NHL game on Wednesday, March 12th at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Seattle Kraken Betting Preview

The Seattle Kraken are 27-34-4 this year after they lost to Washington by a score of 4-2 in their last game. Seattle led 1-0 after the first period, but they allowed four of the last five goals in the game for the loss. The Kraken outshot Washington by a total of 32-24, won 44.1% of the face-offs, and went 0-4 on the power play in the game. Seattle got goals from Eberle and Wright, while Daccord stopped 20 out of 23 shots in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Kraken defeated the Flyers by a score of 4-1 but did lose to the Predators by a score of 5-3 before that. Seattle has lost three of their last four games and they are currently second to last in the Pacific standings with 58 points. Seattle has scored 2.94 goals per game and they have allowed 3.22 goals against per game, while also going 18% on the power play and 77.1% on the penalty kill this season. Jared McCann has led Seattle with 16 goals, 29 assists, and 156 shots on goal, while Chandler Stephenson has added 11 goals, 32 assists, and 63 shots on goal. Joey Daccord is 21-18-3 with a 2.65 goals against average and a .911 save percentage this season.

Montreal Canadiens Betting Preview

The Montreal Canadiens are playing the Vancouver Canucks later in the night on Tuesday, which is not reflected in this article. The Canadiens are 30-27-6 this year after they lost to Calgary by a score of 1-0 in their last game. Montreal allowed one goal in the second period, which was the only goal in the shutout loss. The Canadiens outshot Calgary by a total of 26-24, won 68.4% of the face-offs, and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. Montreal was led by Caufield, who had six shots on goal, while Dobes stopped 23 out of 24 shots in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Canadiens lost to the Oilers by a score of 3-2 but did beat the Sabres in back-to-back games before that. Montreal has won five of their last seven games and they are currently tied for fifth in the Atlantic standings with 66 points. Montreal has scored 2.92 goals per game and they have allowed 3.27 goals against per game, while also going 21.5% on the power play and 82.2% on the penalty kill this season. Nick Suzuki has led Montreal with 19 goals, 46 assists, and 131 shots on goal, while Cole Caufield has added 31 goals, 25 assists, and 190 shots on goal. Jakub Dobes is 6-3-1 with a 2.49 goals against average and a .913 save percentage this year.

Kraken vs Canadiens Prediction

Seattle comes into this matchup after losing three of their last four games, but they will be at home for this contest. The Kraken are 14-15-4 at home this year, while the Canadiens are 14-15-2 on the road. Montreal came into Tuesday night’s game trying to snap a two-game losing streak, so they will be on a back-to-back here. The Canadiens have played well over the last few weeks and they are right in the middle of the playoff race in the East, so this is an important game against a bad Seattle team. I do think Montreal is the better team by a decent margin and even with Dobes starting in net on a back-to-back, I like the Canadiens to grab another win here.
