The Dallas Stars and the Ottawa Senators meet in NHL action from the Canadian Tire Center on Monday night.

The Dallas Stars will look to build on a 5-2 win over Montreal to push their record to 4-1 to start the year. Joe Pavelski, Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson each have a team-high 7 points, with Hintz and Robertson each logging a team-high 5 assists while Pavelski has a team-high 4 goals this season. Mason Marchment’s got 6 points with 3 goals and 3 assists and Tyler Seguin’s posted 5 points with a pair of goals and 3 assists as well this season. Jake Oettinger’s gone 4-0 with a 1.25 GAA and a .959 save percentage while Scott Wedgewood is 0-0-1 with a 2.83 GAA and a .930 save percentage in goal for the Stars so far this season.

The Ottawa Senators will try to build on their three-game win streak, climbing to 3-2 with a 6-2 win over Arizona last time out. Drake Batherson and Brady Tkachuk each have 8 points with Batherson logging 3 goals and a team-high 5 assists while Tkachuk has a team-high 4 goals and 4 assists. Tim Stutzle, Tyler Motte, Shane Pinto and Alex DeBrincat each have 5 points with Pinto logging 4 goals of his own while Motte has 2 goals and 3 assists and Stutzle and DeBrincat each have 4 assists as well this season. Claude Giroux also has 4 points with a pair of goals and a pair of assists as well this season. Anton Forsberg’s gone 3-2 with a 2.82 GAA and a .904 save percentage in goal for Ottawa so far this season.

I get the reasoning for wanting to back either side here as Dallas has been really good overall and Ottawa’s been very strong at home. That’s why I’m looking at the over. There’s some solid potential between the pipes on both sides, but Dallas has scored at least four in two of their three road games while the Sens have potted 17 goals in their three home games so far this season. I think this one could end up being 4-3 at the very least whichever way you slice it if not more, so give me the over here.
