The Los Angeles Kings and the Philadelphia Flyers meet Thursday in NHL action from the Wells Fargo Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Los Angeles Kings vs. Philadelphia Flyers prediction.

Los Angeles Kings Recap

The Los Angeles Kings come into this game looking to bounce back from a 3-2 OT loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins last time out. After this game, the Kings will continue their road trip with a game against the Nashville Predators.

Kings Looking To Find Consistency

Anze Kopitar leads the Kings with 35 points including 8 goals and 27 assists while Alex Laferriere has 22 points with 12 goals. Adrian Kempe has 31 points with a team-high 16 goals and 15 assists while Brandt Clarke has 17 points with 14 assists. Kevin Fiala has 18 points with 10 goals and Trevor Moore has 18 points with 6 goals and 12 assists as well for the Kings this season. Darcy Kuemper has gone 7-2-4 so far this season with a 2.32 GAA and a .915 save percentage in goal for the Kings so far this season. David Rittich is 10-7 with a 2.49 GAA and an .890 save percentage while Erik Portillo has a 1.02 GAA and a .966 save percentage as well on the year.

Why the Los Angeles Kings will win

  • The Flyers have lost each of their last 16 games as home underdogs on the second leg of a back-to-back.
  • The road team has won each of the last four games between the Kings and Flyers.
  • The favorites have covered the puck line in each of the Flyers’ last four games.
  • The Flyers have failed to cover the puck line in six of their last seven games on the second leg of a back-to-back.

Philadelphia Flyers Recap

The Philadelphia Flyers come into this one looking for a response after a 6-4 loss at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings last time out. After this game, Philadelphia will welcome the Columbus Blue Jackets to town.

Flyers Drop Back-To-Back Games

Travis Konecny leads the Flyers with 37 points coming on 16 goals and 21 assists while Matvei Michkov has 27 points with 11 goals and 16 assists. Travis Sanheim also has 20 points with 6 goals and 14 assists. Sean Couturier has 17 points with 6 goals and 11 assists while Owen Tippett has 17 points with 10 goals and 7 assists. Samuel Ersson has gone 6-5-2 in goal for the Flyers this season with a 3.03 GAA and an .884 save percentage while Ivan Fedotov is 4-4-1 with a 3.39 GAA and an .881 save percentage. Aleksei Kolosov is also 4-5-1 with a 3.05 GAA and an .889 save percentage so far this season.

Why the Philadelphia Flyers will win

  • The Kings have lost each of their last five games as road favorites against opponents on a losing streak.
  • The Flyers have won four of their last five games as home underdogs following a road loss.
  • The Kings have failed to cover the puck line in nine of their last 10 games as favorites against opponents on a losing streak.
  • The home team has covered the puck line in eight of the Kings’ last 10 games.

Kings vs. Flyers Prediction

I’m on the Kings here. The Kings have done a bit of a 180 from last year, where they were almost unstoppable on the road and this year they’re far better at home. However, the road team’s won 4 straight in this head-to-head and L.A. is just in much better form right now. The Flyers being on the back-to-back doesn’t help and the Flyers continue to have issues defensively that make them hard to back. Give me Los Angeles.
