In this article, we will formulate a Seattle Kraken vs Edmonton Oilers prediction for this NHL game on Saturday, January 4th at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Seattle Kraken Betting Preview

The Seattle Kraken are 17-19-3 this year after they lost to Vancouver in a shootout by a score of 4-3 in their last game. Seattle trailed 3-1 in the third period, but they scored the last two goals to force overtime, before picking up the loss in overtime. The Kraken outshot Vancouver by a total of 27-22, won 47.4% of the face-offs, and went 1-2 on the power play in the game. Seattle got goals from Beniers, Stephenson, and Dunn, while Grubauer stopped 19 out of 22 shots in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Kraken defeated the Hockey Club by a score of 5-2 and the Canucks by a score of 5-4. Seattle has lost six of their last eight games and they are currently sixth in the Pacific standings with 37 points. Seattle has scored 2.90 goals per game and they have allowed 3.10 goals against per game, while also going 18.3% on the power play and 78.9% on the penalty kill this season. Jared McCann has led Seattle with 13 goals, 15 assists, and 100 shots on goal, while Oliver Bjorkstrand has added 11 goals, 15 assists, and 85 shots on goal. Joey Daccord is 12-9-2 with a 2.51 goals against average and a .912 save percentage this season.

Edmonton Oilers Betting Preview

The Edmonton Oilers are 23-12-3 this season after they defeated the Ducks by a score of 3-2 in their last game. Edmonton saw their 2-0 lead get erased, but they scored with under two minutes left in the game for the win. The Oilers were outshot by a total of 29-26, won 60.8% of the face-offs, and went 1-1 on the power play in the game. Edmonton got goals from Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins, and Nurse, while Skinner stopped 27 out of 29 shots in the game.

Prior to that win, the Oilers defeated the Hockey Club by a score of 4-1 but did lose to the Ducks by a score of 5-3 before that. Edmonton has won five of their last seven games and they are currently tied for second in the Pacific standings with the Kings at 49 points. Edmonton has scored 3.27 goals per game and they have allowed 2.84 goals against per game, while also going 22.9% on the power play and 77% on the penalty kill this season. Leon Draisaitl has led Edmonton with 27 goals, 29 assists, and 112 shots on goal, while Connor McDavid has added 15 goals, 39 assists, and 104 shots on goal. Calvin Pickard is 8-4-0 with a 2.51 goals against average and an .898 save percentage this season.

Seattle Kraken vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction

Edmonton was able to escape with a win on Friday night against the Ducks, but they will be on a back-to-back here. The Oilers are 9-5-2 on the road this season and they are one of the best teams in the NHL in my opinion. Seattle has won two of their last three games and they are 9-8-3 at home. The Kraken are scoring fewer than 3.00 goals per game this year and they will be facing a very good Edmonton defense. The Oilers will also have Pickard starting in net, who has had a great start to the season. I know the odds aren’t great, but I like Edmonton to pick up the win here.
