Denmark is hosting Belgium at Parken in round 1 in the UEFA Nations League.

Denmark is a fantastic team, and they haven’t lost a game since September of 2018. In the Euro Cup qualifications, Denmark has had 4 wins and 4 draws, and they have won 16 points, which was enough for second place, and the Euro Cup spot. Denmark was the best offensive team in this group with 23 scored goals, while conceding only 6 goals. In the Euro Cup, Denmark will be playing against Finland, Belgium, and Russia, the group where Denmark can certainly be one of the top two teams to advance to the next stage. There are a ton of great players in Denmark’s roster starting with Barcelona’s Braithwaite, Poulsen from Leipzig, Eriksen from Inter, Delaney from Borussia Dortmund, Christensen from Chelsea, and Schmeichel from Leicester City. Overall, Denmark is a fantastic team, but they have a new head coach, and we will see how the team will react after months without a game. In their latest game against Ireland on the road, Denmark has had 48% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, and 78% of the correct passes. This match ended in a 1-1 draw. Denmark is plating compact and patient soccer and their counterattacks are fast and precise. If the new head coach will do a good job, Denmark will be a nice surprise in the Euro Cup next year.

Belgium is playing the best soccer in Europe, and I don’t think it’s even a competition. Belgium has won their last 10 games, and during that stretch, Belgium has scored massive 40 goals, which is an average of 4 scored goals per game. Defensively, Belgium was also outstanding with only 3 conceded goals in their last 10 games. It’s needless to say that Belgium has qualified for the Euro Cup from the first place in their group. Belgium is coming into this cycle at full strength with both Hazard brothers, Lukaku, Mertens, De Bruyne, and Courtois, and all of them are ready to play. Belgium’s progress started when they hired Roberto Martinez as their head coach, and you can see a lot of Spanish soccer style in Belgium’s game. Thanks to their amazing form, Belgium is in first place in the FIFA standings. Overall, Belgium is the most appealing team in the world, and they are the top favorite to win the Euro Cup in my opinion, and if they did, Belgium would have deserved it. The only potential problem I could see for Belgium is their defense that is missing another defender or two, just to gain a little bit more depth.

The trends are actually on Denmark’s side in this matchup, but these two teams haven’t played a game since 1995. Denmark is a good team, but Belgium is on another level. We are getting Belgium with great odds here, but I think Belgium will win this one with at least 2 or 3 scored goals.
