RC Lens is welcoming Paris Saint-Germain to Stade Bollaert-Delelis in round 2 in French Ligue 1.

Lens wasn’t playing well in the preseason, and their only game in Ligue 1 didn’t go so good as well. In their first game of the season, Lens was facing Nice on the road, and they have had 43% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, 4 big chances created, and a solid 83% of the correct passes in this match. Lens got ahead early, in the 11th minute from the penalty spot, but just 12 minutes after, Lens has conceded a goal. In the 75th minute, Lens has conceded another goal, and they have lost this match 2-1. Boli and Traore are both injured, and they will not play in this game. The only goalscorer for Lens so far is Kakuta with 1 goal. Lens has played only 1 game so far this season, and they are in 16th place in the standings with 0 points, 1 scored goal, and 2 conceded goals. Lens is the newcomer to Ligue 1 this season, and their main goal is to secure Ligue 1 status for next season as well, but I can tell you right now, Lens will have a tough time accomplishing that.

This will be the first game for PSG in Ligue 1 because they have been playing in the Champions League finals, and both of their Ligue 1 games were postponed. In the Champions League, PSG was playing against Bayern Munich in the finals, and they have had only 38% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and low 75% of the correct passes. PSG has lost this match 0-1, and with that, they lost the title. PSG was at the top of Ligue 1 when the season got canceled because of the pandemic, and because of that, PSG was awarded the title. PSG will be without a lot of players because they need to be in the quarantine after coming back from vacation or international duty. Mbappe, Neymar, Icardi, Marquinos, Di Maria, Paredes, and Navas are all on this list. PSG has lost a few big names in this transfer window, and those were Thiago Silva who left in the free transfer to Chelsea, Cavani who will sign with Benfica, Choupo-Moting is still without a team, while Meunier left to Borussia Dortmund in the free transfer. Icardi’s loan from Inter was over, but PSG has decided to sign him for a 55 million Euros, while Rico arrived from Sevilla for 6.6 million. PSG will be missing some key players, but they still have a lot of depth and quality on the bench to adequately replace those players. Once again, PSG is the biggest favorite to win the title, but I think it will be harder than last season.

Lens’ last home win against PSG was back in 2004, while during the last 18 home games, Lens has won 6, PSG has won 6, while 6 games ended in a draw. You know what, Lens was solid against Nice, and because PSG is missing so many players, I will side with Lens here for a fantastic plus money.
