Valencia is hosting Huesca at Mestalla in round 3 in the Spanish LaLiga.

Despite selling some of their best players, Valencia was playing well in the preseason and in their first game in LaLiga. In their most recent LaLiga match against Celta Vigo on the road, Valencia wasn’t playing so well. Valencia has had 49% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, 0 big chances created, and 81% of the correct passes. Valencia has had a few chances in this game, but they still ended up losing this game 2-1. With 3 points, 5 scored goals, and 4 conceded goals in 2 games, Valencia is in 5th place in the standings. Vallejo and Gomez have each scored 2 goals for Valencia so far, while Paulista has added 1 goal. Lee has 2 assists, while Cheryshev and Wass each added 1 assist. Soler, Mangala, and Paulista are injured, and they will miss this game. Valencia has started this season with a new coach, and without a few of their most important players that left the team, but despite that, Valencia is doing well, at least for now. Valencia was close to the Europa League last season, just 3 points away, but it might be good for Valencia to play in only 1 competition because they can focus only on LaLiga, and the rebuilding of their team.

Huesca was great in the preseason, but they haven’t won any of their two games in LaLiga so far. Huesca is in 13th place in the standings with only 1 point, 1 scored goal, and 3 conceded goals. The only goalscorer for Huesca so far is Maffeo with only 1 goal, while Juan added 1 assist. Huesca was playing against Cadiz at home last weekend, and they have had a massive 70% of ball possession in that game, 1 shot on goal, 2 corner kicks, 0 big chances created, and a solid 86% of the correct passes. Despite being the dominant team in this game, Huesca was struggling on both ends, and Cadiz’s counterattacks have killed them. Huesca has lost this match 0-2. There are no injuries or suspensions in Huesca as of right now. As every newcomer to the league, Huesca will have a tough time securing their LaLiga status, but they are not any weaker than Elche, Cadiz, or Alaves, and Huesca will have a good shot at staying outside the relegation zone. It will be a tough season for Huesca, but with a little bit of luck, Huesca will stay in LaLiga.

Valencia and Huesca have played twice against each other, and Valencia has won both of those games, one at home and one on the road. Valencia is the better team here, and in better form, and they are playing at home. Despite all the injuries, I will pick Valencia at home in this game.
