Brazil is hosting Bolivia at Estadio Municipal de Maracana in round 1 in the World Cup Qualifications.

Brazil hasn’t been playing well, and they have won only 1 of their last 6 games, even though, those games were friendly games. Brazil is one of the best teams in the world, and certainly one of the best in South America, and I don’t think Brazil will have any problems qualifying for the next World Cup. Brazil hasn’t had a notable result in the last two World Cups, and they are hoping to change that in the next one in Qatar. Brazil is starting these qualifications with possibly their strongest roster, but they haven’t played a game in a long time, and there is a lot of ego in this team. Brazil is ranked 3rd in the FIFA standings, but their form or game does not reflect the position they are on. Since Tite has taken over the Brazilian national team back in 2016, they have 35 wins, 9 draws, and 4 losses. This should be an easy start to the qualifications for Brazil, but you can never be too careful. Brazil was never known for their defense, and even though they have some good defenders, their main focus is on the offense.

Bolivia is one of the weakest teams in South America, and they have lost 8 of their last 9 games. In the last Copa America, Bolivia has played 3 games, and they lost all of them while conceding 9 goals and scoring only 2 goals. Bolivia is in 75th place in the FIFA standings, and that is where they deserve to be because Bolivia is not playing good soccer. There aren’t any superstars in this Bolivia team, and they will have a tough time in these qualifications. Bolivia signed a new coach last year, Cesar Farias, and they have played only 3 games since then, and they have 1 win and 2 losses. The defense is the biggest problem for Bolivia as they are conceding a lot of goals no matter who they play against, and the only win for Bolivia was against Haiti, which was back in October of last year. South America doesn’t have a lot of teams, and even fewer good teams and Bolivia is at the bottom with not a lot of quality in their roster.

Brazil is a massive favorite in this game, and deservedly so because they have more quality in every position and more depth on the bench. When playing at home, Brazil has not lost to Bolivia in their last 4 games. Brazil also hasn’t lost any of their last 21 home games, while Bolivia has lost 6 away games on the road. I’m sticking with Brazil at home in this match.
