Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Bayern Munich are clashing in the finale of German DFB Pokal at Olympiastadion in Berlin.

Bayern Leverkusen was playing well after the restart. Good soccer, plenty of goals, but unfortunately for Bayer, the few hiccups they had cost them the spot in the Champions League. Bayer Leverkusen ended the season in 5th place with 63 points, 2 points behind M’gladbach. With 61 scored goals this season, Bayer is among the best offensive teams in Bundesliga, while they conceded 44 goals in 34 games. In their last Bundesliga game against Main at home, Bayer was dominant with 67% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 11 corner kicks, and 89% of the correct passes. Leverkusen has won this game 1-0 with an early goal in 2nd minute. Kai Havertz has been Leverkusen’s best player this season, but unfortunately for them, he will most likely leave Leverkusen after the DFB Pokal finals. In the DFB Pokal semifinals, Leverkusen was playing against FC Saarbrucken, a team from a lower division. Leverkusen has won this game 0-3. All in all, a decent season for Leverkusen where I’m sure they have been disappointed not to end the season in the top 4, but they still have the opportunity to win the DFB Pokal, it will be hard, but certainly doable. Paulinho is the only injured player for Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern has won the Bundesliga title, dominantly I might add. Bayern has 82 points, 32 conceded goals, and massive 100 scored goals this season, big 13 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund. Bayern hasn’t lost a single game since early January, and they were brilliant after the restart of the season with 10 straight victories. In the DFB Pokal semifinals, Bayern was playing against Eintracht Frankfurt and has won this match 2-1 which qualified them for the finals. In their last Bundesliga game of the season, Bayern was playing against Wolfsburg on the road and was the better team in that match with 62% of ball possession, 9 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, and 86% of the correct passes. Bayern has won this match 0-4. Robert Lewandowski has scored 34 goals for Bayern this season and is the top goal scorer in Bundesliga, while Thomas Muller added 21 assists and has broken De Bruyne’s record from his Wolfsburg days. Sule is the only injured player for Bayern Munich and unfortunately, he will miss this game. Once again, Bayern has proved that they are the best team in Germany, and they are still playing in the Champions League in August. Bayern has an immense amount of quality in their roster and whichever player is on the bench can easily replace the starter, that’s how good they are.

Bayern is the favorite in this game, and deservedly so, but Leverkusen could surprise. Bayern hasn’t lost any of their last 21 games, while they are on a fantastic 16-game winning streak. It’s hard to imagine that Bayern will end their season with a loss, and I don’t think they will. This should be a fun game with plenty of chances and goals.
