Brighton & Hove Albion is welcoming Arsenal to American Express Community Stadium in round 30 of the English Premier League.

Brighton was in a terrible, terrible form before the season was paused and they haven’t won any of their last 8 goals in the EPL. Despite their terrible season, Brighton is in 15th place with 29 points, 32 scored goals, and 40 conceded goals. Brighton was one of the few teams that actually used this forced break because there was no light at the end of the tunnel for them in the EPL. Maupay is the leading goal scorer for Brighton with 8 goals, while Gross added 4 assists. Izquiredo is the only injured player for Brighton and he will not be in the lineup. In their last match in the EPL against Wolverhampton, Brighton was decent with 57% of ball possession, 1 shot on goal, 0 corner kicks, and 83% of the correct passes. Neither of the teams in this match did anything in the attacking end and this match ended in a 0-0 draw. For now, Brighton is outside the relegation zone, but unless they start winning some points, Brighton will start sliding down the standings.

Just when I think Arsenal is getting on track, they go on a loss without firing a bullet. Earlier this week, Arsenal was playing against Manchester City on the road and has had a disastrous game. Arsenal has had only 33% of ball possession, 0 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 84% of the correct passes. In the first 25 minutes of the game, Arsenal had two injuries and David Luiz came into play, which was a crucial moment for both teams. In the 47th minute, Luiz made a terrible mistake and Manchester City scored a leading goal. In 49th minute, Luiz made a stupid, stupid foul, Arsenal conceded a penalty kick, and Luiz got a red card. Game Over for Arsenal and they lost this match 3-0. Arsenal is in 9th place in the standings with 40 points, 40 scored goals, and 39 conceded goals. In the Europa League, Arsenal was knocked out by Olympiacos, but they are still playing in the FA Cup. Sure, Arsenal has improved a lot since Arteta took over the helm, but they are still making some stupid mistakes and there are at least 5 players on Arsenal’s roster that has to leave the team at the end of the season, starting with David Luiz. Aubameyang is Arsenal’s top goalscorer with 17 goals, while Lacazette added 7 goals. Chambers and Torreira are injured and will not be in the lineup. The only chance for Arsenal to get to the Champions League was by winning the Europa League, and since that is not happening now, I don’t see Arsenal getting into the Champions League next season.

Brighton hasn’t won any of their last 10 games and hasn’t won any of their last 5 home games in a row. From the seven games, Brighton and Arsenal have played against each other, Brighton has won 2, Arsenal 3, while 2 ended in a draw. I don’t know why, but once again I will side with this miserable Arsenal team, maybe because Luiz won’t play.
