Energetik-BGU Minsk is welcoming Belshina Bobruisk to Stadyen RTsOP-BGU in round 13 of the Belarus Vysshaya League.

Energetik has been playing well this season, and thanks to that, Energetik is in 4th place in the Vysshaya League standings with 22 points, 4 points away from Bate Borisov at the top. Energetik has scored solid 17 goals in 12 games this season, but their defense on the other had was wildly inconsistent and they conceded 14 goals. Energetik hasn’t won any of their last 2 games, and they conceded at least 1 goal in their last 5 games. Last weekend, Energetik was facing Shakhtyor on the road where they had 45% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, and 7 corner kicks. This was a game where I expected goals on both sides, but Energetik wasn’t able to use any of their chances and they lost 1-0. Energetik was on the brink of the relegation last season, so the soccer they are playing this season is a nice surprise, now if only Energetik could keep that pace, that would be fantastic for them. Energetik is 4-1-1 this season at home, and they have scored 16 goals in those 6 games, while they conceded only 6 goals. Yakhshiboev is Energetik’s top goalscorer with 7 goals. I like Energetik because they are playing good soccer and are focused on the attacking part of the game more than the defensive part, a risky tactic that won’t always payout, but it’s working for Energetik.

Belshina is still waiting for their first win of the season, and I’m afraid it might never come with the way Belshina is playing this season. As the newcomer to the Vysshaya League, you must expect a hard season, and I’m sure Belshina did, but they didn’t expect this for sure. Belshina is in the last place in the standings with only 3 points, 9 scored goals, and massive 27 conceded goals, the most in the Vysshaya League. In their last 7 games, Belshina has 6 losses and one draw, 20 conceded goals, and only 6 scored goals. In their last match against Dinamo Minsk, Belshina has had 48% of ball possession, 1 shot on goal, and 4 corner kicks. Belshina’s defense was once again a disaster and they lost this match 0-4. Kovel has scored 3 goals for Belshina and is their top goal scorer. Alongside Belshina, Smolevichi is the second newcomer to the Vysshaya League, and neither of these teams is playing well enough to compete with the other teams in the Vysshaya League, and unfortunately for them, I think both Belshina and Smolevichi will get relegated to Belarus’ second division after this season.

Belshina hasn’t won any of their last 15 games overall, and their last 6 away games this season. Energetik is the better team here, and they are in the better form, by far. I think Energetik will snap out of their 2-game winless streak against the weakest team in the Vysshaya League.
