Granada is hosting Valencia at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes in round 34 in Spanish LaLiga.

Granada was in a good form before the break, and luckily for Granada, that form continued after the break. In their last 6 games in LaLiga, Granada has 2 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses. Granada is in 9th place in the standings with 46 points, 40 scored goals, and 38 conceded goals, just 6 points away from the Europa League. This is one of the best seasons for Granada in their history and their dream of the Europa League continues. Granada was playing against Alaves on the road in their last LaLiga game and has had 45% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and low 62% of the correct passes. Granada was calm and patient in this game and in the end, Granada has won 0-2 in this match. Fernandez has scored 7 goals for Granada so far, while Machis added 6 goals, and Soldado and Puertas added 5 goals each. Victor Diaz added 5 assists. Montoro, Martinez, Quini, Lozano, Silva, and Gonalons are all injured, while Vadillo is still questionable. Granada is one of the nicest surprises in LaLiga this season, but I don’t think they will get to the Europa League, at least not this season.

Valencia is one of those teams that is not having a good time after the restart. With only 1 win from their last 6 games, and with 3 straight losses in their last 3 games, Valencia has dropped in the standings and they are now in 10th place with 46 points. Valencia is further from the Europa League with every game. Maxi Gomez and Dani Parejo are Valencia’s top goal scorers with 8 goals, while Gameiro added 5 goals. Rodrigo Moreno has added 7 assists, while Wass added 6 assists. Piccini and Gaya are both injured, which means Garay has recovered and will be of much help to Valencia in this game. In their last game against Athletic Bilbao at home, Valencia has had 51% of ball possession, 3 corner kicks, 82% of accurate passes, but only 1 shot on goal. There were some good moments for Valencia in this game, but in the end, Valencia has lost this match 0-2. Valencia hasn’t scored a goal in their last three games while conceding 5 goals during that stretch. This Valencia’s bad form started back in early February, and since than Valencia was knocked out of the Champions League and has dropped a few spots in LaLiga which resulted in Valencia losing the Europa League spot. Valencia is a good team caught in a bed spell; one I’m hoping will end soon.

The trends are heavily on Valencia’s side, and something is drawing me to side with Valencia despite their bad form, and I’ll tell you what, Valencia’s slump has to end, might as well be in this match.
