Lazio is hosting Brescia at Stadio Olimpico in round 37 in Italian Serie A.

After a couple of weeks of struggle during which Lazio lost every chance to win the title, they were able to string a couple of wins together, but still too late because Juventus secured the title. In their last 2 games, Lazio has scored 7 goals, while conceding only 2 goals. In the standings, Lazio is in 4th place with 75 points, the same amount as Atalanta in third place, and 1 point less than Inter in second place. In their latest Serie A game against Verona on the road this past weekend, Lazio has had 44% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and 77% of the correct passes. Lazio has won this match 1-5 with the hat-trick from Ciro Immobile. With 34 goals in 35 games, Immobile is still the top goal scorer both in Lazio and Serie A. Luis Alberto still has 14 assists this season. Lulic and Leiva are both injured, while Radu is still questionable. To be honest, before the season started, I wasn’t expecting Lazio to be in the Champions League spot, but they were playing well, and Lazio has absolutely deserved to be in the top four. A job well done, Lazio.

Brescia has lost 5 of their last 6 games, and even though they had some chances to get out of the relegation zone, the season is now over for Brescia and they will get relegated. With only 24 points, Brescia is in 19th place. Neither Brescia’s offense nor defense was good this season with only 34 scored goals and massive 76 conceded goals. In their last game against Parma at home, Brescia was decent with 41% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and solid 81% of the correct passes. Brescia has lost this match 1-2. Donnarumma has scored 7 goals for Brescia this season, while Torregrossa added 6 goals. Sandro Tonali has 6 assists. Cistana, Bisoli, and Skrab are injured, while Ndoj is still questionable. Brescia simply didn’t have the quality or depth to compete in Serie A this season, and even though they had some solid games this season, it wasn’t enough for Brescia to stay in Serie A. They weren’t far from the safe zone, and maybe if there wasn’t a forced break because of the Covid-19, Brescia could have strung a few more wins or good results to stay in Serie A, but unfortunately for them, Brescia wasn’t able to recover since the restart.

Lazio seems to be on a roll now, especially in the attacking end, while Brescia hasn’t won any of their last 11 away games. Lazio will go to the Champions League, and the fact that it doesn’t matter on which spot they end the season, I’m sure they would like to win their last 2 games of the season. I think Lazio will get this one without too much trouble.
