Norwich City is hosting Southampton at Carrow Road in round 30 of the English Premier League.

Norwich has had some good games this season, but they are still the weakest team in the EPL, and they are in the last place in the standings with only 21 points from 29 games. At the beginning of the season, Norwich was playing well and was scoring goals, but those good moments went away, and Norwich scored only 25 goals so far this season. This is Norwich’s first game since the hiatus, and they need to start well if they want to have a chance of staying in the EPL next season. Norwich is only 6 points away from the safe zone, an accomplishable goal for Norwich. In their last EPL match against Sheffield United over 3 months ago, Norwich was the better team with only 59% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and 81% of the correct passes. The bad defense got the better of Norwich once again and they lost this match 1-0. Teemu Pukki is the leading goal scorer for Norwich with 11 goals, while Cantwell has 6 goals. Buendia has added 6 assists. There are no injuries or suspensions for Norwich City which means coach Farke will have his best players at his disposal. I know that Norwich is capable of playing good soccer and I hope they will stay in the EPL because they are a good team and probably the most lovable team in the EPL.

For a long time this season, Southampton was in the relegation zone, but with a few wins and a few good games, Southampton is now in 14th place with 34 points, 7 points away from the relegation zone. Southampton is having a lot of troubles on the defensive end this season and they have conceded 52 goals, while their offense has been solid with 35 scored goals, but that is not enough for Southampton to compensate for their bad defense. Southampton was playing a friendly match last week against Bristol City, which they won 3-2, but once again Southampton has conceded more than one goal. In their last EPL match against Newcastle at home, Southampton has had only 38% of ball possession, 3 shots on target, 5 corner kicks, and low 69% of the correct passes. Southampton has conceded a red card in the 28th minute, and their goalkeeper saved a penalty in the 45th minute. With a player less, Southampton was defending surprisingly well, but they conceded a goal in the 79th minute and Southampton has lost this match 0-1. Danny Ings is playing in some of the best forms of his career and has scored 15 goals, while Ward-Prowse added 4 goals for Southampton. Southampton has lost 3 of their last 4 games in the EPL, and it’s extremely important for them to restart the season in a good way, otherwise, it won’t be long before Southampton starts sliding into the relegation zone.

The home team has dominated this series between Norwich and Southampton, but I would give the advantage to Southampton because they have played a friendly game last week. Neither of these two teams is in a great form, and for that reason, my gut is telling me this could end up in a draw.
