Denmark is hosting Belgium at Parken in round 2 of Group B in the Euro Cup 2021.
We all know that Denmark is a really good team, and we all know the circumstances they were under in the first game of this tournament. In the first half of that game against Finland, Denmark was playing well, they were creating chances, they were dominant, until the 43rd minute when Eriksen collapsed and was taken to the hospital. Fortunately, he is fine now, but this tournament, and possibly his career are now over. Overall, Denmark has had 70% of ball possession in that game, 6 shots on goal, 9 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 85% of the correct passes. After conceding a goal in the 60th minute, Denmark was awarded a penalty kick in the 74th minute, but they missed, and Denmark has lost this match 0-1. I believe that if not for the unfortunate event, Denmark would have won that game, but now they will need to fight really hard to get to the next stage, and I think they can do it.
Belgium has extended their streak without a loss to 10 games, and they have shown a lot of their power against Russia. Belgium was the dominant team in that match with 66% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and 90% of the correct passes. Belgium has done all of this without Hazard and De Bruyne who will both most likely be in the lineup for this match. Lukaku has scored 2 goals in this game, and Belgium has won this game 3-0. Meunier has added 1 goal for Belgium. Belgium is at the top of their group with 3 points, and with a win in this game, Belgium will most likely secure the top spot and a spot in the next stage. Being one of the best teams in the group stage is important because you are getting a weaker opponent in the next stage, and Belgium is definitely capable of being the best team. I have said this many times before, Belgium is one of the best teams in the world, they are playing remarkable soccer, and they are my favorites to win this competition, and with Hazard and De Bruyne back in the lineup, those chances are even better.
In the last 2 recent games between these two teams, Belgium was better, and they have won both of those games. Without Eriksen, Denmark is a completely different team, and if they lose this match, Denmark will have a tough time to getting through the group stage. Belgium on the other hand is just warming up, and I don’t think they will stop. I’m taking Belgium to win this one, and I will add goals because Denmark has to attack, and that will leave them open.
