Brentford vs. Arsenal 8/13/21 Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Predictions

Brentford and Arsenal face off on Friday to kick off the English Premier League showdown at Brentford Community Stadium. This is the first game of the English Premier League season, with a team that was just promoted up to the Premier League. 

It’s a little too early for a must-win, but Arsenal really needs to try and get three points out of this game. After this game against Brentford, Arsenal will face off with Chelsea and Manchester City, both games they will probably be underdogs in. Last season was very disappointing for Arsenal, and they weren’t very active in the transfer portal. For Arsenal, they are led by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but he hasn’t looked all that great during the preseason, and a goal from him in this game would go a long way in Arsenal finding success. Gabriel Martinelli is back with Arsenal after playing with Brazil in the Olympics. Most expected he might take some time off, but there is a chance he might play in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Brentford who will be playing their first-ever Premier League game in this one. There is a lot of similarities with Leicester City’s rise, but they still have a lot to prove in the Premier League. Brentford’s best player is Ivan Toney and some believe he could be moving onto a better club in the future, but for now, he is here and ready to compete. The team was also active in the transfer market bringing in Kristoffer Ajer and Frank Onyeka, Brentford should be an exciting team to watch as they push numbers forward when they have the possession. In this game, pushing numbers forward is going to be important, but they can’t be caught sleeping when Arsenal goes on the counter-attack. 

Brentford is going to keep this game close in the first half, but Arsenal’s offense is going to be too much in the second half. Arsenal on the money line at -115 is the play and I am also throwing a few dollars on Arsenal -1.5 at +205.
