Bolivia and Colombia face off in Game 7 of the CONMEBOL South American World Cup Qualifiers. These two teams last faced off in March of 2017 and it was Colombia that came away with the 1-0 victory.
Colombia currently sits in 5th place in the CONMEBOL standings having picked up eight points so far.. Colombia is coming off the Copa America tournament where they found some success. In the semi-finals, Colombia took Argentina to penalty kicks where they were defeated 3-2. In the third place game, Colombia faced off with Peru and they were able to win 3-2. Luis Diaz scored two goals, including a goal in the 94th minute to seal the third place victory. They only had 45 percent of the possession, but they had six shots on goal compared to the three shots on goal that Peru had.
On the other side of this matchup is Bolivia who sit in 8th place in the standings having picked up five points. Bolivia’s last games also came during the Copa America, but they couldn’t even make it out of the group stage. The last game for Bolivia came against Argentina, and they were defeated 4-1. Bolivia’s goal was scored by Erwin Saavdra in the 60th minute. Bolivia only had 32 percent of the possession in that game, and only two of their shots went on target. In this game, if Bolivia wants to come away with a victory the defense is going to need to be a whole lot better.
Bolivia’s defense is an issue, and I don’t see it getting any better in this game. Look for Colombia to get the goal-scoring early, and they will have no issue cruising to the victory. Back Colombia on the money line.
