Brazil vs. Argentina 9/5/21 CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifications Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Brazil and Argentina face off on Sunday in Game 8 of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers at Corinthians Arena. These two teams faced off back on July 10th and it was Argentina that came away with the 1-0 victory. 

Angel Di Maria scored the goal in the 22nd minute, and they never looked back as they came away with the victory. These two teams are ranked in the top two of the CONMEBOL standings, but Argentina has the six-point lead. 

Argentina has lost two games in a row, including their last game on Thursday against Venezuela. Lautaro Martinez opened up the scoring in stoppage time in the first half. Argentina added two more goals after the 70th minute. Even with all the success they did give up a goal in the 94th minute and that’s not something that they can feel very good about. Argentina had 17 shots and ten of those went on goal. They also had 73 percent of the possession while being accurate on 92 percent of their passes. This is a tougher test for Argentina and they need to do everything with their opportunities when they are given shots on goal. 

On the other side of this matchup is Brazil who faced off with Chile on Thursday and they were able to win that game 1-0. Brazil was actually the team on the counter attack for most of that game tas they only had 39 percent of the possession. Brazil had 10 shots but only four of those went on goal. Everton Riberio was the goal scorer in the 64th minute, as that was the difference as they came away wit the victory. 

The last time these two teams played it was low scoring, and that will be the case again in this game. Look for both offenses to struggle to get anything going in this game, and that will lead to the under cashing. If you are looking to bet on the side, I am throwing a few dollars on Brazil because they are playing at home.
