Honduras and Jamaica face off on Wednesday night in a CONCACAF world cup qualifier at Estadio Olimpico. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2019, and Jamaica came away with the 3-2 victory.
Honduras currently sits in 7th place in the standings having picked up three points so far. Honduras isn’t a very good offensive team, and their defense has had some major issues in a few of the games. In the last game against Mexico they gave up the first goal in the 18th minute, and they gave up two more goals late. Honduras had only one shot on goal and 24 percent of the possession. Maynor Figueroa also picked up a red card in the 49th minute, and he won’t be available in this game. Two games ago against Costa Rica, Honduras played to a 0-0 draw. Over the last four games, they have scored only one goal total.
On the other side of this matchup is Jamaica who currently sits in last place in the standings having picked up two points. Jamaica has played to a draw in two of their last three games, and the one loss came against the United States 2-0. In the last game against Canada, Jamaica only had one shot on goal, and 36 percent of the possession. The defense wasn’t actually all that bad giving up only two shots. Over the last two games, Jamaica hasn’t scored a goal, and they need to try to find the offense getting better.
Jamaica is getting way too much value as this big of underdogs. Honduras isn’t a team that has been scoring, and it’s only going to one goal by Jamaica to get the job done. Look for Jamaica to get that one goal, and they will win the game on the money line.
