Italy is hosting Spain at San Siro in the UEFA Nations League semifinals. Italy has broken is on the longest undefeated streak in history, and they look unbeatable right now. Spain is on a 2-game winning streak, but they have been struggling with scoring goals for a while now.

After winning the Euro Cup this past summer, Italy has kept playing well, and they are at the top of their group in the World Cup qualifications with 14 points, 12 scored goals, and only 1 conceded goal. Yes, the last cycle wasn’t great for Italy, they have had 2 draws and 1 win, but the important thing is they have gotten back on the winning track. Italy was playing Lithuania last, and they were the dominant with 72% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and 89% of the correct passes. This game wasn’t a challenge for Italy, and they have won this game 5-0. As far as this Nations League tournament goes, Italy was also dominant, but it’s been a while since they played those games. Italy is a fantastic team, they are great in every position, and they have an excellent coaching staff, and they are the biggest favorites to win the World Cup next year in my opinion.

Spain is also doing well at the moment, and after being on a 2-game losing streak, Spain is now on a 2-game winning streak during which they scored 6 goals and conceded 0 goals. With 13 points, 13 scored goals, and 5 conceded goals in 6 games, Spain is at the top of their group, and they will be qualifying for the World Cup next year. In their last game, Spain was playing against Kosovo on the road, and they have had 73% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and a high 92% of the correct passes. This was the opportunity for Spain to score a few goals, to have a good game, and to dominate, and they did some of those things. Spain has won this game, they were dominant, they have had a good game, but they have scored only 2 goals. The biggest problem I see for Spain in this cycle is a ton of new players on their roster, and even though those are all good players, they are no experience in international soccer. Spain is missing some key players, and the chemistry might not be on point in this game, but Spain is still a good team, and they will always try to dominate.

Italy is on fire, they are in excellent form, and it’s been a long time since their last loss. Italy does have a few injuries, but they are pretty much the same team they were in the Euro Cup this past summer. Yes, Spain is a good team, but they will have a tough time going through Italian defense, and for that reason, I will take Italy in this one.
