Napoli vs. Venezia 8/22/21 Serie A Soccer Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Napoli is hosting Venezia at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in round 1 of the Italian Serie A. Napoli fell just short of the Champions League spot last season in Serie A, but they are in good form now with 5 wins in a row. Politano is Napoli’s biggest signing this offseason, but they were also able to keep all of their best players, and they have a new head coach, Luciano Spalletti. Offensively, Napoli was great last season with 86 scored goals, and their defense wasn’t bad with 41 conceded goals, but they were just 1 point away from the Champions League spot. Napoli has been close to the top of Serie A for a few seasons now, but they always seem to be missing that one step to get there. The expectations are high in Napoli this season, they will be playing in the Europa League this season, in which they will be one of the biggest favorites, but we will see if Napoli is good enough and if they have enough depth to compete in 2 competitions this season.

Venezia is the newcomer to Serie A, and with that, they are immediately one of the biggest candidates to get relegated. Venezia is in good form, they haven’t lost a game in a while, but they haven’t played any of the best teams in Italy. Venezia ended up in 5^th place in Serie B last season, and they had to go through the promotion playoffs to get here, but now that they are, their only goal is to stay here. There are some good players in Venezia, none that you would know, but that doesn’t mean they are not a good team. There won’t be any easy games for Venezia this season, but they aren’t any worse than other players from the bottom of Serie A. It will be hard, but with a little bit of luck, a decent defense, and some consistency, Venezia might just make it through.

It has been a while since these two teams have played a game, and a lot has changed since then. Napoli is playing well, but so does Venezia. It’s important to start the season positively, and Napoli is the team with more quality and better soccer style, and I think they will win their season opener at home.
