Granada is hosting Barcelona at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes in round 20 of the Spanish LaLiga. Granada is a solid team, especially at home, but we will see if they can pull off this one. Barcelona is playing well, they are not overly effective in the attacking end, but they are creating chances.
Granada has lost only 1 of their last 8 games, and they are undefeated in their last 3 games. With 23 points, Granada is now in 13th place, and they won’t have much trouble staying away from the relegation zone. Offensively, Granada is solid with 23 scored goals, but their defense is not as good with 26 conceded goals. Molina is now the leading goalscorer for Granada with 7 goals, while Rochina has added 4 assists. There are a few injuries in Granada, but they have more questionable players, and that could severely decrease their depth for this game. Granada is doing a great job, they are playing well at home, and that is what will keep them in the league, but I don’t think we will see them anywhere near the European spot, at least not this season.
Barcelona has caught a nice form, they have 3 wins in their last 4 games, while they are undefeated in their last 4 games. During this streak, Barcelona has scored 7 goals, which is not a lot for Barcelona, but they are improving, and they are getting better. The good news for Barcelona is they have even kept one clean sheet during this streak. As far as the injuries go, Barcelona will be getting a couple of players back for this game, but De Jong and Araujo are now on the list, and they will most likely miss this game. Even though he has been injuries for a while, Depay is still the leading goalscorer for Barcelona with 8 goals, while Fati, who is also injured, has added 3 goals. Not having anyone to step up against Messi has been torture for Barcelona, but they have signed Torres from City, and I think that will help them score more, once he is healthy. Barcelona also has a lot of young and talented players, and their future is secured, but they need to be patient, they need to give Xavi a proper chance, and maybe next season they can count on a major trophy.
Barcelona hasn’t been the greatest on the road, but their good form in combination with Granada’s bad defense will give them a win here in my opinion. I’m taking Barcelona and goals.
