Argentina and Colombia face off on Tuesday in a CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes. When these two teams faced off in July of 2021 in the Copa America, the game was tied 1-1 at the end of the draw. It was Argentina that advanced to the next round after winning on penalties 3-2.

Argentina comes into this game sitting in 2nd place in the standings having picked up 32 points. Argentina’s offense hasn’t been as strong the last year, but this is still a team that is winning games, and is going to be a factor in the World Cup. In the last game against Chile it was two goals in the first 34 minutes that was the difference as they came away with the victory. Argentina did have a goal in the 20th minute, but they still came away with the victory. Argentina had seven shots and five shots on goal. In this game, Argentina needs the defense to be good and make it so the offfense doesn’t need to have a lot of success.

On the other side of this matchup is Colombia who currently sits in 6th place in the standings having picked up 17 points. In the last game against Peru, Columbia’s offense couldn’t find the back of the net and that led to the 1-0 defeat. Colombia had 30 shots in that game but only two went on net, and they need to do more with their shots in this game. Two games ago against Honduras, Colombia was able to score two goals. Over the last seven games Colombia has managed to score only two goals.

Colombia’s offense has been an issue and they are going to struggle again in this game. I also don’t see Argentina running up the score, and this game is going to stay under the total. I don’t see more than a goal being scored. Back the under to cash.
