Southampton and Newcastle are clashing at St. Mary’s Road in round 21 of the English Premier League. Southampton was in excellent form, they were on a run, but they got shut out against Aston Villa. Newcastle has also been in fantastic form, and they have escaped the relegation zone because of it.

After being undefeated for 7 games in a row, Southampton lost to Aston Villa on the road last weekend, and not only they have lost, but Southampton also got shut out. Despite losing that game, Southampton will remain in good form in my opinion, and they will get back on track soon. With 35 points, Southampton is in 9th place, they have scored 34 goals while conceding 41 goals. Overall, Southampton is doing well this season, but I don’t think they can climb any higher in the standings, but I also think they are good enough not to sink any lower. Adamas is leading Southampton with 7 goals, while Broja and Ward Prowse have added 6 goals each. Redmond has added 5 assists. There are a few injuries in Southampton, but these players have been gone a while. As I’ve mentioned, Southampton will get back on track soon, maybe even in this game.

Newcastle is a clear example of how a team can change after signing a few players, and that is exactly what is happening with Newcastle. Thanks to their great streak of 7 games, Newcastle has gotten away from the relegation zone, and they are now in 14th place with 28 points. Newcastle has improved on both ends, especially in the attacking end, but they are a talented team, and they are yet to reach their maximum. Wilson is the leading goalscorer for Newcastle with 6 goals, while Saint-Maximin has added 5 goals. Hayden Wilson, Ritchie, Lewis, and Trippier are all injured, and the latter one will be missed a lot. I believe that Newcastle has secured their spot in the EPL for next season, but they can still make their season easier and more enjoyable by keeping playing well. Of course, it’s easier said than done, but Newcastle is a talented team trending in the right direction, and I’m sure they will be investing even more money over the summer.

Southampton has been solid at home this season, they have lost only 1 home game, while Newcastle was bad on the road, but their form has been great lately. I think this will be a fun game, I think we will see some changes, and probably some goals as well.
