Everton vs. Chelsea 5/1/22 EPL Soccer Pick, Predictions, Odds

Everton and Chelsea face off on Sunday in an English Premier League showdown at Goodison Park. When these two teams faced off on December 16th the two teams played to a 1-1 draw. 

Everton currently sits in 18th place in the standings and in the relegation zone with only 29 points. This is a game that Everton needs three points in. Everton has picked up four points over their last three games, but they are coming off a loss in their last game. In the last game against Liverpool, the defense actually wasn’t that bad, but they gave up two goals in the 62nd and 85th minute, and that led to the defeat. Everton has scored 34 goals and their defense has given up 55 goals. The defense has been an issue all season and is going to need to be better in this game. Richarlison has been the top player for Everton scoring seven goals and adding four assists. 

On the other side of this matchup is Chelsea who sits in 3rd place in the standings having picked up 66 points. Over the last two games Chelsea has picked up four points, and anything less than three points here is a big disappointment. On Thursday, Chelsea faced off with Manchester United and played to a 1-1 draw. Two games ago against West Ham, Chelsea’s defense was good, not giving up a goal, and that led to the 1-0 victory. Chelsea has scored 68 goals total this year while their defense has given up 28 goals. Mason Mount has been the top player for Chelsea scoring 10 goals and adding nine assists. Kai Havertz is also having a nice season scoring seven goals and adding three assists. 

Everton has been awful this season, and they aren’t going to turn it around here. Everton has given up 55 goals total season and Chelsea’s offense is going to attack them. Everton lost their last game against Liverpool 2-0, and they will do it again in this game. I expect Chelsea will win this game 2-0 and cover the -1.5.
