RC Lens is welcoming AS Monaco to Stade Bollaert-Delelis in round 38 of the French Ligue 1. Lens is fighting for the Conference League spot, but they don’t depend only on themselves. Monaco is fighting to stay in the Champions League spot, and a draw in this game would allow them to do it.

Lens has been in excellent form lately, they are undefeated in their last 7 games while winning 5 of those 7 games. Thanks to this amazing run, Lens has given themselves a chance to play in Europe next season, but they need a win here. With 61 points, Lens is now in 7th place, they have scored a solid 60 goals so far this season while conceding 46 goals. Unfortunately for Lens, the schedule was not their friend at the end of this season because they are applying against a team that also needs a win. Kalimuendo is the leading goalscorer for Lens with 12 goals, while Clauss added 11 assists. Lens doesn’t have any injuries, but Leca is suspended because of the red card. Even if they lose here, I think Lens can be very happy with their season, and if they can keep playing this way next season as well, I think we might see them closer to the top.

If you think Lens has been in great form, wait until you see Monaco. With 9 straight wins, Monaco has climbed the standings to 2nd place, but they still need a win to stay there and qualify for the Champions League. Ben Yedder is Monaco’s captain, and he is their leading goalscorer with 24 scored goals. In their last game, Monaco was losing at halftime, but with an outstanding second half, Monaco has won that game 4-2, and that allowed them to stay in 2nd place. It’s very hard to bet against Monaco right now, but they are also playing the team in good form, and the team that needs a win in this game. Monaco has a couple of injured players, but they have both been out of commission for a while now. Monaco is a very talented team, and a team that likes to play offensive soccer, but they will need to show it here once again before the season is over.

I think this will be a fantastic game to watch because we will see a lot of goals, and with both teams needing something here, I think we won’t see much defense on either side. I’m taking goals in this one.
