SC Freiburg and RB Leipzig are facing off at Olympiastadion in the DFB Pokal finals. Freiburg has had a solid season, they have qualified for the Europa League, and they are playing well. Leipzig has qualified for the Champions League, and after disappointing in the Europa League, this is the chance for them to win a trophy.
Freiburg has lost their last 2 games in Bundesliga, but some other results went in their favor, and they have qualified for the Europa League. Freiburg was pretty solid in the attacking end with 58 scored goals so far, but their defense has been a bit inconsistent with 46 conceded goals. Freiburg has been a bit hot and cold towards the end of the season, but they are a fantastic team that can beat anyone in Germany. In the DFB Pokal, Grifo is the leading goalscorer for Freiburg with 4 goals, while Petersen added 2 goals. Holer has added 2 assists. Freiburg doesn’t have any injuries at the moment, they have a lot of quality, and they are just a good team overall. Freiburg doesn’t win trophies often, but this is a good chance for them.
Leipzig has finished the season on a positive note with a draw and a win just before that. After that disappointing loss in the Europa League, Leipzig had to bounce back because the Champions League was at stake, and that is what they did. Leipzig ended this season in 4th place with 58 points. Offensively, Leipzig has scored 72 goals, and Nkunku has been their best player, and I would be surprised if he decides to stay in Leipzig for another season. Same as in Bundesliga, Nkunku has been Leipzig’s top goalscorer in the DFB Pokal with 3 goals and 2 assists. Leipzig has been excellent after Tedesco took the helm, and I think Leipzig will be even better next season. I know it will be hard for Leipzig to keep their best players such as Olmo, Nkunku, and Gvardiol, but they will be playing in the Champions League, and that might be enough to persuade these players to stay. Leipzig is a great team with a solid defense, and if Nkunku will be in good form, so will Leipzig.
The trends are pretty even here, and I think this will be a great game with a lot of chances, and with that, I think we will see a lot of goals. I will take goals, on both sides.
