Leicester City and Brentford face off on Sunday in an English Premier League showdown at King Power Stadium. When these two teams faced off in March, it was Leicester City that won 2-1. 

Leicester City went through a real dry spell last year, but they still finished in 8th place in the Premier League, having picked up 52 points. The hope for Leicester City is they can take a step forward, but they weren’t all that busy during the transfer window. Leicester City did lose the captain from last year, Kasper Schmeichel, to Nice. The team hasn’t brought in anyone this off season, so this team is still going to look a lot like they did last season. The star player for this team is James Maddison, who has been passed the torch of the team’s best player. Leicester City does still have Youri Tielemans, Jamie Vardy, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and they are all going to also be key to the team’s success. Leicester City’s final tuneup was against Sevilla, and they won 1-0. 

On the other side of this matchup is Brentford who finished last season in 13th place having picked up 52 points. Brentford is a team that really likes to press, and they can put pressure on an even elite defense. Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo are up front, and they are going to the keys in this game as they try to put some major pressure on Leicester City’s defense. In the last few years, teams who are in their second year up in the Premier League have struggled a bit, and Brentford needs to build off the momentum of last season rather than take a step back and flit with relegation. 

Both teams to score was very profitable for Leicester City, and I expect that is going to be the case here. Leicester City is going to score a couple of goals, but their defense is going to also struggle against the pressure. Back both teams to score and the over 2.5. This really is a true toss-up on what side will win the game, though, and one that should be stayed away from.
