Tottenham Hotspur and the Wolves face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. When these two teams faced off on February 13th it was the Wolves that secured the 2-0 victory.
Tottenham Hotspur has to feel good about the way they have played in the first two games of this season. In Game 1 against Southampton, Tottenham fell behind early, but then the offense came. Tottenham scored four goals between the 21st and 63rd minute, and that was enough to secure the victory. In the last game against Chelsea, Tottenham looked like they were going to fall, but Harry Kane scored a goal in the 96th minute to pick up a point. Even though they only picked up one point, it had to feel like a victory. This is clearly a talented offense, the question in most games will be how the defense performs. Cristian Romero is dealing with a muscle injury, and won’t be able to go in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Wolverhampton Wanders who have the talent to have picked up wins in each of the first two games, but instead, they have only picked up one point. In the first game of the season, against Leeds United, the Wolves were defeated 2-1. In the 6th minute, Daniel Podence opened up the scoring and the Wolves season was off to a great start. The defense struggled though as the game went on though, including an own goal in the 74th minute that led to the loss. In the last game against Fulham, they had 60 percent of the possession but only one shot on goal, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. The big signing of the offseason was Matheus Nunes, and he is expected to play in this game.
It’s clear the offense is going to be an issue for the Wolves this season, just like it has been for the last few years. In this game, I expect Tottenham Hotspur to continue the strong offense they have shown the last couple of games, and the Wolves aren’t going to have any answers. Look for Tottenham Hotspur to score at least two goals, and I don’t see the Wolves getting on the board. Back Tottenham Hotspur -1.5 to cash.
