Club Brugge and Bayer Leverkusen face off on Wednesday in a Group B English Premier League showdown at Jan Breydel Stadium. 

Club Brugge currently sit in 3rd place in the Belgian Pro League, having picked up 16 points. The last game came against Cercle Brugge and the offense was strong in that game, scoring four points and which led to the victory. They had 63 percent of the possession and four shots on target. Club Brugge has scored 17 goals total, while their defense has given up seven goals. Jutglà is having a huge season, scoring five goals and adding another three assists. Andreas Skov Olsen has also scored four goals and added two assists. Clinton Mata was hurt in the last game, and he won’t be available for this game. Noa Lang is also one of the best players on the team, but he won’t be able to go in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Bayer Leverkusen, who sits in 14th place in the standings, having picked up only three points this season. To say it’s been a disappointment this season would be an understatement. In the last game against SC Freiburg, the offense scored two goals, but the defense gave up three goals and that led to the defeat. They have scored six goals this year, while the defense has given up nine goals. Jeremie Frimpong has been the top player, scoring two goals. Callum Hudson-Odoi looked good over the weekend, but he is expected to return to the bench in this game. I wouldn’t be shocked if he comes into this game early, though. 

Leverkusen might win this game, but with the way they have looked this season, I really don’t feel comfortable backing them here. The defense was an issue in the last game, and they aren’t going to magically clean that up here. Look for Brugge to score a couple of goals, and they will secure the victory.
