Benfica vs. PSG 10/5/22 UEFA Champions League Soccer Pick, Predictions, Odds

Benfica and PSG face off on Wednesday in a Group H UEFA Champions League soccer showdown at Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica. 

Paris Saint-Germain currently sits in 1st place in the group, having picked up six points. PSG Faced off against Maccabi Haifa in the last Champions League game, and that game ended in a 3-1 victory. They actually fell behind 1-0 in that game, but they scored three goals after the 37th minute and that led to the victory. Lionel Messi opened up the scoring in the 37th minute. PSG faced off against Nice on Saturday, and they were able to secure the 2-1 victory in that game. Renato Sanches looked to finally be healthy, but he only played 16 minutes in the last game before leaving with a groin injury, and he won’t be able to go in this game. Marco Verratti is healthy, though, and he will be included in the starting lineup. 

Benfica also currently sits in 1st place in the group having picked six points in the group. Their last game in the Champions League came against Juventus, and in that game, they were able to secure a 2-1 victory. They fell behind in that game in the 4th minute, but they found back and scored two goals right around halftime to secure the victory. On Saturday, Benfica faced off against Victoria SC, and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. Joao Victor and Lucas Verissimo look to both be healthy, and they are both going to need to have big games here. 

At times, PSG’s defense has had lapses, but I don’t think that is going to happen here. They know they can put themselves in a great spot with a victory in this game, and they are going to find success here. I expect PSG’s defense to lockdown here, and that is going to be the difference as they are going to get the job done. Back PSG on the money line.
