Burnley and Watford face off on Tuesday in an English Premier League showdown at the Turf Moor. When these two teams faced off in June of 2020 it was Burnley that came away with the 1-0 victory. This is a key game for both teams as they flirt with the relegation zone. 

Watford currently sits in 17th place in the standings having picked up 14 points. Watford right now is out of the relegation zone but there isn’t much wiggle room, and they need to try and pick up three points in this game. In the last game against Newcastle, Watford played to a 1-1 draw. It was a goal by Joao Pedro in the 87th minute that was the difference as they came away with the victory. On the season Watford has scored 23 goals while their defense has given up 37 goals total. The top player this year has been Emmanuel Dennis who has scored eight goals and added five assists. Joshua King and Ismaila Sarr have also had a strong season, each scoring five goals. 

On the other side of this matchup is Burnley who sits in 20th place in the standings having picked up 11 points. Burnley’s last game in the Premier League was back on January 2nd and the defense struggled in that game giving up three goals. They also had an FA Cup game against Huddersfield on January 8th and they lost that game 2-1. Burnley has scored only 16 goals while their defense has given up 27 goals.
