Chelsea vs. West Ham United 9/3/22 EPL Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Chelsea and West Ham United face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge. When these two teams faced off on April 24th it was Chelsea that secured the 1-0 victory. 

Chelsea comes into this game sitting in 10th place in the Premier League standings having picked up 10 points. To say it’s been a disappointing season for Chelsea might be an understatement. In the last game against Southampton, Raheem Sterling scored a goal in the 23rd minute, but it wasn’t enough as they gave up two goals and that led to the defeat. Chelsea has scored six goals this season, while their defense has given up eight goals. Wesley Fofana has just joined the team, but it appears he might be slid into the starting lineup right away. Conor Gallagher is also expected to play in this game, and they are going to need him to have a big game here. 

On the other side of this matchup is West Ham United, and they sit in 14th place in the standings having picked up four points. In the midweek game against Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham were able to steal a point. It was a goal in the 55th minute by Tomas Soucek that was the difference as they secured the draw. West Ham United has scored two goals this season, while the defense has given up six goals. Gianluca Scamacca is still working his way back from the illness, but he could move back to the bench and be available for this game, something that hasn’t been the case the last few games. 

Chelsea’s defense has been an issue so far this season, and West Ham is going to break through the defense a few times. West Ham needs three points here, and they are going to push the numbers forward to try to do everything in their power to get those points.
