Denmark vs. Tunisia 11/22/22 World Cup Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Denmark and Tunisia face off on Tuesday to kick off their World Cup in a Group D soccer showdown at Education City Stadium. 

There has been a lot of buzz around this Denmark team heading into this World Cup, but all that buzz might die down if they were to lose this first game. There has been a lot of chatter over the last few years surrounding Christian Eriksen after he collapsed on the pitch a few years ago. He has recovered from that and is expected to play a big role in this game. In World Cup qualifying, Denmark were quite impressive, winning their first nine games, and the defense didn’t allow a goal in eight of those games. In the last game on September 25th in the Nations League, Denmark was able to secure a 2-0 victory. They had 47 percent of the possession and seven shots on target. 

On the other side of this matchup is Tunisia, who believes they can get to the knockout stage, but historically they haven’t found a ton of success in the World Cup. Wahbi Khazri is the star of this Tunisia team, and he has had a part in each of the last four goals that they have scored at the World Cup. He is a strong goalscorer, and it’s going to be important that he has a big game here. Tunisia has won three of its last four games heading into this game, but the loss was a bad one in the last game. In the last game against Brazil, the defense really struggled, giving up five goals, and they need to have more focus on the defense. 

This game could end in a 0-0 draw, and that wouldn’t be very shocking. Denmark really doesn’t have a true goalscorer they can lean on when they need a goal, and that means they really lean on their defense. Their defense is going to be good, and that will lead to this game being lower-scoring. There won’t be more than two goals scored, and the under is going to cash here. Back the under.
