Lille OSC vs. Chelsea 3/16/22 UEFA Champions League Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Lille OSC is welcoming Chelsea to Stade Pierre Mauroy in the second leg of the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League. Lille now hasn’t lost in their last 3 games, but they are still the same inconsistent team they were since the season started. Chelsea is on a 4-game winning streak, they are not scoring a lot, but they are winning games.

This game is still under the question mark because of all the problems Chelsea has, but Lille definitely sees this game as an opportunity to get a positive result. As I’ve mentioned, Lille is undefeated in their last 3 games, but in Ligue 1, they are very far from the top of the table. The first leg ended 2-0 for Chelsea, and even though it’s only 2 goals, Lille will have a tough time catching up. David has been the most efficient for Lille in the Champions League with 3 goals, while Yilmaz has added 2 goals. Ikone has 2 assists. Those inconsistency problems are a big deal for any team, especially the team like Lille who doesn’t have a lot of depth, and their quality on the bench is not at the highest level, but they did win the title last season, and that might be enough for them.

Chelsea is playing well right now, they are solid defensively, they are not scoring a lot, but they are winning games. Kai Havertz has been in excellent form lately for Chelsea, and he has been their goalscorer in their last few games. In the Champions League, Timo Werner is the leading goalscorer for Chelsea with 3 goals, while Lukaku, Jorginho, and Havertz have added 2 goals each. In the EPL, Chelsea will stay in the top 4, and they are still one of the best defensive teams in the league, but we will see how the players will react to everything happening around the club. Chelsea is officially for sale now, and the asking price is over 3 billion Euros, but I think the final price will be close to 4 billion. I think Chelsea is an outstanding team, they are playing great, they are competitive, and after winning this competition last season, I wouldn’t put it past them to get to the finals this season as well.

Chelsea has the advantage from the first leg, and Lille will surely try to catch up, but it will be extremely hard. I don’t think Chelsea will push too hard, but I think they will win here.
