Liverpool vs. SL Benfica 4/13/22 UEFA Champions League Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Liverpool is hosting SL Benfica at Anfield in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. Liverpool has probably gotten the job done in the first leg, and they are in excellent form right now. Benfica is a good team, they were on a 2-game losing streak, but they were able to win their game in the Primeira Liga this past weekend.

Liverpool is in fantastic form right now, they are undefeated in their last 6 games while winning 5 of those 6 games. The only game Liverpool wasn’t able to win was against Manchester City in the EPL this past weekend. As far as the Champions League goes, Liverpool is getting the job done quickly and easily, and they have won the first leg of this matchup 1-3 on the road. Salah is leading Liverpool with 8 goals, but his goalscoring form lately hasn’t been the best. Firmino and Mane have added 3 goals each. There are no injuries or suspensions in Liverpool at the moment, and that will certainly help them with their busy schedule. Liverpool will once again be playing against City this upcoming weekend, but they need to deal with Benfica first, qualify for the semifinals, and get the job done as easily as possible.

Benfica was able to surprise Ajax in the previous stage, but they can’t surprise Liverpool. Overall, I think Benfica is a great team with a good mix of youth and experience, but that will not help them here, unfortunately. In the Primeira Liga, Benfica has won their last game at home, but they are pretty far away from the title this season, and they will remain in 3^rd place which will take them into the additional qualifications for the Champions League. Offensively, Benfica has been doing really well this season, but not so much in the Champions League. Nunez is the leading goalscorer for Benfica with 5 scored goals, while Yaremchuk has added 2 goals. There are a couple of injured players in Benfica, but they have been injured for a while now. Benfica will be selling some players in the summer, and Nunez will be one of them, and that will make this team a lot of money to do what they do best, produce young and talented players and sell them for a massive profit.

Liverpool has won the first leg 3-1, and I expect a similar result here as well. In their current form, Liverpool looks pretty much unstoppable, and I think they will get another nice home win here.
