Milan is welcoming Sampdoria to San Siro in round 25 of the Italian Serie A. Milan is playing really well right now, they have beaten Inter and Lazio, and they are once again looking like a great team. Sampdoria has ended their slump by beating Sassuolo last week, but I’m still not convinced they can keep it up.

Milan is in great form, they have lost only 1 of their last 8 games, and they are in 3rd place in the standings. Luckily for Milan, Inter and Napoli have tied their game, which is the best for Milan, that is if they win this game of course. Milan has scored 49 goals so far this season, and Giroud has been in excellent form for them lately. Giroud has 7 goals to his name right now, but he is still not the leading goalscorer because Ibrahimovic has scored 8 goals. Theo Hernandez has 5 assists, but he is suspended because of the red card from that game against Inter. Kjaer and Toure are the only two injured players for Milan right now. Milan is out of the Champions League, they are not playing in the Europa League, which is going to be their advantage as the season goes on.

Sampdoria was without a win for 7 games, while they had a losing streak of 5 games before they beat Sassuolo last weekend. That game against Sassuolo was one of their best this season, and not only did they win, but they were also able to keep a clean sheet. With this win, Sampdoria has stayed outside the relegation zone with 23 points, 33 scored goals, and 41 conceded goals in 24 games. There are some tough games ahead for Sampdoria, but as I’ve mentioned, I’m not convinced they can keep that streak going. Gabbiadini and Candreva are the leading goalscorers for Sampdoria with 7 goals each, while Caputo added 6 goals. Candreva has also added 7 assists. The bad news for Sampdoria is that Gabbiadini is injured, and alongside him, Damsgaard and Yoshida are injured as well. Sampdoria might have bounced back from their losing streak, but they are now facing a strong team, and they will need a lot of luck to get points in this game.

When playing at home, Milan hasn’t lost to Sampdoria in their last 4 games, and they are in much better form than Sampdoria is right now. Milan is firing on all cylinders right now, they are creating a lot of chances, and they are scoring a lot of goals. I’m taking Milan and the goals in this one.
