Poland vs. Netherlands 9/22/22 Nations League Soccer Picks, Predictions, Odds

Poland and the Netherlands face off on Thursday in a League A Group 4 Nationals League game at the National Stadium. These two teams faced off on June 11th, and it ended in a 2-2 draw. 

The Netherlands come into this game sitting 1st place of the group having picked up 10 points. Netherlands faced off with Wales in the last game, and they scored three goals on the way to the victory. It was a goal by Memphis Depay in the 93rd minute that was the difference as they secured the victory. The Netherlands had seven shots on goal and 60 percent of the possession. Hans Hateboer and Noa Lang aren’t with the team, so they won’t be in the starting lineup in this game. All signs point towards Steven Berghuis moving into the starting lineup here. 

On the other side of this matchup is Poland, and they sit in 3rd place in the group having picked up four points. In the last game against Belgium, Poland didn’t look very good, and they were defeated 1-0. They only had 31 percent of the possession and two shots on target. In that game against the Netherlands, they jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but they gave up two goals after the 51st minute and that led to the draw. Poland is a bit banged up heading into this game, and they will be without Matty Cash for this game. Jacek Goralski is also hurt heading into this game, and it’s expected that Karol Linetty will fill in for him. 

I think Poland is going to put up a strong fight here, but I just don’t think they have a strong enough defense to get the job done here. They gave up two goals the last time these two teams faced off, and I expect them to give up at least that here. Poland might score a goal, but it won’t be enough.
