RCD Mallorca is welcoming Barcelona to Estadi de Son Moix in round 19 of the Spanish LaLiga. Mallorca has had some positive results as of late, and thanks to that they are outside the relegation zone. It’s obvious that Barcelona is improving, but they still have a lot of work to do if they want to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Mallorca is now in 15th place in the standings with 20 points, 17 scored goals, and 27 conceded goals. Mallorca was on a 5-game streak, but just before the Christmas break, they lost against Granada on the road. Defensively, Mallorca isn’t that good with 27 conceded goals, and their offense is not producing nearly enough to compensate for that. Rodriguez is the leading goalscorer for Mallorca with only 3 goals, but he also added 2 assists. Raillo, Hoppe, and Sastre are injured for Mallorca. At the moment, Mallorca is outside the relegation zone, but the season is only half done, which means they will need to keep playing this well to stay outside the relegation zone, and even if they do, I think it will be hard for them to stay in the league with this low scoring offense.

Barcelona has had a lot of covid cases this past week, and even though there aren’t many players on the covid list, I’m pretty sure we will be missing some players here for Barcelona. In addition to that, Barcelona will be without Wague, Fati, Pedri, Roberto, and Depay who are all also injured. Barcelona now hasn’t lost any of their last 2 games, and they have looked pretty solid against Seville, but not solid enough to get a win. That game ended in a 1-1 draw. Not only did Barcelona get knocked out of the Champions League, they are still far away from the Champions League in the LaLiga standings, but not by much. Offensively, Barcelona is still producing, not as much as they used to, but they did score 29 goals so far this season. Defensively, Barcelona has been pretty much garbage over the last couple of seasons, and this one isn’t any different. Barcelona has conceded 22 goals so far. Even though he is injured, Depay is still the leading goalscorer for Barcelona with 8 goals. The good news is that Barcelona has a bright future ahead, they have a ton of young and talented players, and they have already signed Ferran Torres from Manchester City who will be a great addition to this team.

Mallorca hasn’t won any of their last 7 games against Barcelona, and honestly, I don’t they will get one here despite Barcelona having a lot of injuries. I think the young guns will rise to the occasion in this game, and I think Barcelona will get the win.
