Real Madrid is hosting Granada at Santiago Bernabeu in round 23 of the Spanish LaLiga. Real Madrid is leading LaLiga with 50 points, and honestly, they deserve the title this season. Granada was decent overall so far this season, but they are not scoring a lot of goals, and it could cost them.
Real Madrid has been outstanding on both ends so far this season with 47 scored goals, which makes them the best offensive team in the league, and with only 20 conceded goals which makes them one of the best defensive teams. Benzema leads Real Madrid and the league with 17 scored goals so far, while he also added 7 assists. Vinicius Junior has added 12 goals as well. Unfortunately for Real Madrid, Benzema is on the injury list, but that could change until the game time. Mendy is also injured, while Vinicius is suspended because of the yellow cards. After winning the Spanish Super Cup, Real Madrid has gotten knocked out of the Spanish Cup by Bilbao earlier this week. As far as the Champions League goes, Real is facing PSG soon, and that is a game which they can win, but we will see if anyone else besides Benzema can step up.
Granada is in low 16th place, and that is mostly because they have been inconsistent so far this season. Granada is an average team, but they have conceded 33 goals in 22 games, while their offense couldn’t pick up the slack as much as it should have. Granada has scored 26 goals in 22 games. Before the international break, Granada was on a 2-game losing streak, and this break was something they needed, but the question is if it did them any good. Lozano and Arias are both still injured. Molina has been in good form for Granada so far this season, and he has 7 goals to his name. Suarez has added 6 goals. Rochina has 4 assists. Granada is outside the relegation zone right now, and they do have a few points to spare, but they could be a bit higher if they can improve their defense just a bit. Granada will not have the easy second half of the season, but I think they will be able to stay outside the relegation zone without much trouble.
The trends are heavily on Real’s side in this matchup, and Granada has won only 1 game against Real Madrid in the past. Real also hasn’t lost any of their last 10 home games, but without Benzema and Vinicius, someone will need to step up and get those goals. I think Real will win, but it will not be easy.
