Argentina and Australia are clashing at Sapporo Dome in Round 1 of Group C in the Olympics 2021 soccer tournament. Argentina usually does well in this tournament, and they have even won the title back in the 2008 Olympics. The last time Australia was in the Olympics was back in 2008, and they haven’t won a single game, and their expectations are not any higher this time as well.

In the 2016 Olympics, Argentina has had 1 win, 1 loss, and 1 draw, and they have failed to advance past the group stage. When most of the teams are made of their young stars mostly from their national leagues, Argentina is made of a lot of MLS players and players playing in Europe, and that will make this Argentina’s team dangerous. The player you might know is Ledesma, a goalkeeper playing for Cadiz in Spain. Same as the other teams, Argentina hasn’t had a lot of time to prepare for this tournament, and they haven’t played a single friendly match, but this is a good Argentinian team that could certainly be a threat to Spain in this group, but I think they will advance past the group stage.

Australia is not the weakest team in this tournament, but they are also far away from teams like Spain, Germany, Brazil, and France. All of the Australian players are playing in their national league, and they will be looking to get their first win ever in this tournament. This is not an easy group for Australia, and they will need a lot of luck to end up in one of the top two spots, but who knows, anything is possible. In the 2008 Olympics, Australia has had 2 losses and 1 draw, and they have scored only 1 goal in that tournament, and they didn’t advance past the group stage. It’s hard to say who is the best player on this team, but there are some young and talented players in this team, such as Arzani from Manchester City. Australia is hoping to go through the group stage here, but don’t think they are good enough to do it, but they can certainly score a goal or two in this tournament.

These two teams have met in this tournament back in 2008, and Australia has won that match 1-0, but that team has had Messi and Aguero in the lineup. Australia is the weaker team here, and for that reason, I will side with Argentina.
