AS Roma and Ludogorets Razgrad face off on Thursday in a Group C Europa League soccer showdown at Stadio Olimpico.
When these two teams faced off on September 8th it was Ludogorets that were able to secure the 2-1 victory. All three goals in the game were scored after the 72nd minute. AS Roma had 57 percent of the possession and six shots on target. Ludogorets had 43 percent of the possession and three shots on target.
Ludogorets currently sit in second place in the group, having picked up seven points. Last Thursday, they faced off against Real Betis, and they were defeated 1-0. Ludogorets had 54 percent of the possession and five shots on target, but it wasn’t enough, as they couldn’t find the back of the net. On Sunday, they were able to secure a 3-1 victory. Kiril Despodov and Matias Tissera both could move into the starting lineup in this game. Cauly also needs to have a big game here.
AS Roma currently sit in third place in the group, having picked up seven points. Roma’s last Europa League game came against HJK, and they were able to secure the 2-1 victory. On Monday, they faced off against Verona, and AS Roma were able to secure a 3-1 victory. Roma had 68 percent of the possession and six shots on target. Roma has the Rome Derby on Sunday and that is a bigger game for them, even though they have a chance to advance with a win in this game. Georginio Wijnaldum and Leonardo Spinazzola are all still banged up and not available to go in this game.
Even with significant changes to the lineup, this is a game I think Roma should find success with. This is a very deep Roma team, and they are going to push numbers forward here. Roma might not score four or five goals, but they will find the back of the net at least twice. Back Roma -1 to cash here.
