Aston Villa is welcoming Liverpool to Villa Park in round 33 of the English Premier League. Villa is now on a nice winning streak, they are in good form, but they have beaten all the bottom teams. Liverpool is now 3 points behind Manchester City, which means they need a win here, otherwise, I don’t think they will win the title.
Aston Villa is in solid 11th place with 43 points, they have scored and conceded 47 goals so far this season, and I think they are a pretty solid team. Offensively, Aston Villa is capable of a lot, but their defense has been a bit shaky this season. Watkins is the leading goalscorer for Aston Villa with 10 scored goals so far, while Danny Ings has added 7 goals and 6 assists. Leon Bailey is the only injured player for Aston Villa at this time. Aston Villa is far away from the relegation zone, but they are also pretty far away from any of the European spots, which is something they will be aiming for next season. Aston Villa will work on signing some reinforcements in the offseason, and I’m sure Gerrard will make the right choices to improve this team.
Liverpool was playing against Tottenham this past weekend, and they were dominant in that match with 65% of ball possession, 22 total shots, 11 corner kicks, and 86% of the correct passes. Despite having a ton of shots, Liverpool has had only 3 shots on target, which was enough for one goal. The final score of this game was 1-1, and thanks to that Liverpool is now 3 points behind Manchester City in the EPL standings. Liverpool will also be playing in the Champions League finals against Real Madrid, and they will also play against Chelsea in the FA Cup finals. Liverpool is in great form, they are playing well, and creating chances, but they are not scoring as much as they should, and that could become a problem. Salah has scored 22 goals and added 13 assists for Liverpool so far this season, while Jota has added 15 goals. Mane has 14 goals, while Alexander-Arnold has 12 assists. When they start playing their game, no one can stop Liverpool, and I think they will win the Champions League.
Liverpool has been great on the road in the EPL so far this season, and I think they will get a win here. Aston Villa hasn’t won any of their last 3 games against Liverpool, and I don’t think they will start here. Aston Villa is in good form, but Liverpool is not allowed to drop points again. I’m taking Liverpool.
