Aston Villa and Manchester United face off on Sunday in an English Premier League showdown at Villa Park. When these two teams faced off in July 2022 the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Aston Villa has lost three of their last four games, and during the three losses, they have failed to score any goals. In the last game against Newcastle, the defense was awful, giving up four goals and that led to the blowout defeat. Aston Villa had 40 percent of the possession and zero shots on goal. Boubacar Kamara, Ludwig Augustinsson, and Diego Carlos are all still dealing with injuries and will be out for this game. Danny Igns is expected to be in the starting lineup and is going to need to be good here. 

On the other side of this matchup is Manchester United, who sits in 5th place in the group having picked up 23 points. Last Sunday against West Ham, Manchester United only scored one goal, but it was enough to secure the victory. Marcus Rashford scored in the 38th minute. Manchester United had 53 percent of the possession and three shots on target. They played a Europa League game on Thursday and beat Real Sociedad 1-0. Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, and Antony are all currently questionable for this game. 

Aston Villa has a new coach, but I don’t think that is going to save them from the problems they have right now. Manchester United’s defense is coming off a game where they gave up zero goals, and they are going to lockdown again with the defense. Aston Villa isn’t going to get on the board, and Manchester United will secure the victory.
