Atalanta vs. Hellas Verona 4/18/22 Serie A Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Atalanta is hosting Hellas Verona at Gewiss Stadium in round 33 of the Italian Serie A. Atalanta is having a very bad season, they got knocked out of the Europa League, and they are in bad form. Verona has been scoring a ton of goals this season, they are effective offensively, but their defense is not good at all.

Atalanta hasn’t won any of their last 4 games while losing 3 of those 4 games. Atalanta has also lost their Europa League game to Leipzig last week, and not only did they lose, but they also got shot out. As far as Serie A goes, Atalanta is now in 8^th place with 51 points, which is pretty far away from the Champions League spot, but it is a bit close to the Europa League spot. Offensively, Atalanta can do a lot better, and even though 53 scored goals seem like a lot, it’s not the best Atalanta can do. Zapata and Pasalic have scored 9 goals each, while Pasalic has also added 6 assists. Ilicic, Toloi, and Maehle are all injured. Atalanta just couldn’t get consistent this season, but they have had some positive moments, which was sadly not enough for them to do much this season.

Verona has been one of the best offensive teams in Serie A this season with 56 scored goals, but I gotta admit they have cooled off a bit. Their defense on the other hand has been terrible, and it still is terrible. Verona has conceded 49 goals. With 45 points, Verona is now in 10^th place, and I doubt they will qualify for Europe, but they certainly have the potential to improve and maybe do that next season. Simeone has scored 16 goals for Verona so far this season, while Barak and Caprari have added 10 goals each. Caprari has also added 7 assists. There aren’t any notable injuries in Verona as of right now. Verona has beaten a few big teams this season, and if only their defense was a little bit better, they would have beaten a few more, and they would have been a bit higher in the standings.

Both teams are inconsistent right now, and they are both not doing a good job defensively. I think this will be a highly entertaining game with little defense on either side. I see goals here, and I will take them.
