Atalanta vs. Roma 12/18/21 Serie A Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Atalanta and Roma are clashing at Gewiss Stadium in round 18 of the Italian Serie A. Atalanta are playing well, at least in the attacking end, but in the game where they had to step up, Atalanta failed. Roma has been hot and cold so far this season, they are capable of playing great, but they just can’t get there.

Atalanta is on a 6-game winning streak in Serie A, but as I’ve mentioned, they failed to step in the Champions League when they needed to, and Atalanta got knocked out to the Europa League. In their last game, Atalanta has beaten Verona 1-2, and that is harder than you think this season. Thanks to their amazing streak in Serie A, Atalanta is now in 3^rd place in the standings with 37 points, 37 scored goals, and 20 conceded goals. Zapata has scored 9 goals for Atalanta so far this season, while Pasalic added 7 goals and 5 assists. The good news for Atalanta is pretty much all of their injured players have recovered. Atalanta definitely has the quality to compete for the title, and I think they will, but without more solid defense, I’m not sure they can go all the way.

Roma has been playing well in the attacking end and they have been scoring goals, but their defense couldn’t keep up with it. Roma is not as lucky when it comes to injuries, and some of their best players are on the list right now. With only 5 scored goals, Pellegrini is the leading goalscorer for Roma, and he has also added 4 assists. Roma has been in decent form, not great, but also not bad, and they have won 5 of their last 7 games. With 28 points, Roma is now in 8^th place in the standings, but they are close to that Europa League spot. I know Roma isn’t looking well right now, but there is still a lot of time left in the season, and if Mourinho can settle down and focus on coaching his team, Roma will do well, but I think he is going down the wrong road, again.

When playing at home, Atalanta hasn’t lost to Roma in their last 3 games, and they are currently in better form. I think this will be a fun game with 2 capable offensively oriented teams. Atalanta can score more, a lot more than Roma, but I see Roma getting on the scoreboard. I’m taking Atalanta and goals.
