Atlético Madrid and Club Brugge face off on Wednesday in a Group B UEFA Champions League showdown at Metropolitano Stadium.
When these two teams faced off last Tuesday, it was Club Brugge that were able to secure the 2-0 victory. Kamal Sowah opened up the scoring in the 36th minute, and Ferran Jutga added another goal in the 62nd minute to help Club Brugge secure the victory. Club Brugge had 47 percent of the possession and three shots on target. Atlético Madrid had 53 percent of the possession and five shots on target.
Atlético Madrid currently sits tied for second place, having picked up three points so far. On Saturday, Atlético Madrid faced off against Girona, and they were able to secure a 2-1 victory. It was Angel Correra that scored the two goals. They had 45 percent of the possession and seven shots on target. Atlético is mostly healthy heading into this game, but they will be without Sergio Reguilon, Marcos Llorente, and Felipe who are still working their way back from injury and to full form.
On the other side of this matchup is Club Brugge who sit in 1st place in the standings having picked up nine points. Club Brugge faced off against Westerlo on Saturday, and they were defeated 2-0. They had 65 percent of the possession and 13 shots on target, but it wasn’t enough, as they couldn't find the back of the net. Club Brugge will be without Mats Rits, Dedryck Boyata, and Owen Otasowie, who are all still dealing with injury.
Club Brugge just beat Atlético Madrid and even with Atlético being the home team here, I don’t think they are going to be finding a lot of success in this game. Atlético Madrid is going to really struggle to score again here, and that will be the difference as Club Brugge gets the job done. Back Club Brugge on the money line.
