Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid 2/6/22 LaLiga Soccer Pick, Predictions, and Odds

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are clashing at Camp Nou in round 23 of the Spanish LaLiga. Barcelona hasn’t lost any of their last LaLiga games, but they have made quite a few new signings in the January transfer window that should help them score more goals. Atletico is not playing well defensively, but they are scoring quite a bit of goals, and they are now in 4^th place in LaLiga.

As I’ve mentioned, Barcelona has made some signings over the last couple of weeks, and in addition to those, Dembele has stayed in Barcelona as well. Aubameyang and Adama Traore are those two signings, but the problem with Barcelona right now is they have too many offensive players and midfielders, which could be a bad thing for them. Barcelona did get rid of Coutinho who went to Aston Villa, and he is already leaving a mark there. With 35 points, Barcelona is now in 5^th place, but they are only 1 point away from Atletico in 4^th place. In a couple of weeks, Barcelona is playing against Napoli in the Europa League, and now it’s the time for them to sharpen their form in LaLiga for that match. Garcia, Umtiti, Roberto, Fati, Depay, Lenglet, and Balde are all on the injury list, but it’s likely some of these players will be ready for this game. I think Barcelona has a bright future with all the young and talented players in their roster, but they should have given them more time to adjust instead of wasting money on Aubameyang and Traore.

Atletico has won the title last season, and it was well deserved, but I expected more from them this season. Atletico has already conceded 26 goals, which is even more than Barcelona, but they have scored more than Barcelona, 36 goals in total. With 36 points, Atletico is in 4^th place, but the title is too far away for them to defend it. In the Champions League, Atletico is playing against Manchester United, and the first game is in Madrid. Of the 36 goals Atletico has scored, Correa has 8 to his name, while Suarez has added 7 goals. Yannic Carrasco has added 5 assists. Kondogbia and Llorente are close to being ready for games, while Griezmann is still injured. With LaLiga so far gone from them, I think Atletico will try and focus on the Champions League, and United is certainly a team they can beat, but we will see what will happen in that game.

Atletico has beaten Barcelona in the reverse fixture of this matchup this season, but this is a different Barcelona now, and I think it will be a different game. I will side with Barcelona at home in this one.
