Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig are clashing at BayArena in a derby match of round 30 in the German Bundesliga. Leverkusen is once again looking well, but they are not scoring as much as we are used to from them. Leipzig is on fire, they have qualified for the Europa League semifinals, and I think they might win it.
In their last 3 games, Leverkusen has 2 wins and a draw, which was against Bochum last weekend. I would say Leverkusen is having an amazing season, they have 52 points, 68 scored goals, and 42 conceded goals, and they are now in 3rd place. Unfortunately for Leverkusen, the competition for the Champions League spot is tough this season, and they will need to stay on top of their game to get there. Schick is leading Leverkusen with 20 scored goals, while Diaby has added 12 goals and 8 assists. There are a bunch of injuries in Leverkusen, and Wirtz is probably the most important one. The schedule is not easy for Leverkusen until the end of the season, but they are good enough to stay in the Champions League spot.
Leipzig is now undefeated in their last 15 games, they have kept 2 clean sheets in their last 2 games, and they have beaten Atalanta in the Europa League earlier this week. With that win, Leipzig has qualified for the Europa League semifinals where they will face Rangers, a team they should beat. Leipzig is also playing in the DFB Pokal semifinals against Union Berlin, and they are the biggest favorite to win that competition as well. After that shaky start to the season, Leipzig has completely changed their style and approach, and it’s paying off. As far as their Bundesliga schedule goes, I think Leipzig has it easier than Leverkusen, but you can never be too careful. Nkunku has been brilliant for Leipzig this season with 17 goals and 12 assists, and there is no defense that can stop him right now. Haidara is the only injured player for Leipzig as of right now. I know Leipzig has played in the Europa League just a few days ago, but they are in good mood right now, they are in great form, and I just don’t see them losing in this game.
I have a feeling this is going to be a fantastic game with a ton of chances and goals. Leverkusen has quite a few injuries right now, but they are still playing well, and they are the home team here. I think Leipzig will keep rolling in this game, and I see them getting the win.
