Bayern Munich is hosting Borussia M’gladbach at Allianz Arena in round 18 of the German Bundesliga. Bayern has a ton of injuries and covid cases, and they will be somewhat shorthanded in this game, but they still have a lot of offense to outscore anyone. Borussia is on a bad streak, they are struggling on both ends, but maybe this break has done them some good.

Bayern is at the top of the table in Bundesliga, and they now have a 9-point advantage ahead of Borussia Dortmund, but they could still use a win to maintain that distance. As I’ve mentioned, Bayern has 9 covid players, they are missing half of their defense and their starting goalkeeper is Manuel Neuer. The good news for Bayern is that Lewandowski, Muller, and Gnabry who are their best offensive players are available, and that means Bayern will score goals. Lewandowski has already scored 19 goals for Bayern so far this season, while Muller added 5 goals and 14 assists. Bayern is on a 7-game winning streak during which they scored 20 goals while conceding only 4 goals, and they have kept 4 clean sheets. I’m pretty confident Bayern will win another title in Bundesliga, but their main goal is the Champions League, and I think they will go far.

Borussia is now on a 5-game streak without a win, while they lost 4 of those 5 games. The only positive result Borussia has since the end of November is the draw against Hoffenheim just before the break. At the moment, Borussia is in 14th place with 19 points, which is only 2 points above the relegation zone, and that is something they did not expect. Borussia has a solid team, more than solid, but they also have a few injuries and covid cases, but this is a pretty good spot for them because I don’t think anyone else will get to play such a vulnerable Bayern. Hofmann is the leading goalscorer for Borussia with 7 goals, but unfortunately for them, he is one of the injured players. Stindl has added 5 assists. The situation is pretty grim for Borussia right now, but I think they are a solid team and they will bounce back, but I don’t think they will see the Europa League next season.

This should be a pretty fun matchup, especially because Bayern has a ton of injuries and Borussia sees their shot in this game because of it. I still think Borussia can’t win this game, but I think they definitely can score, and that’s what I will take in this match.
